Electrical Designer - Richmond

We are looking for a full-time Electrical Designer to join our Richmond office. This position reports to our Vice President.
Purpose – The Electrical Designer provides engineering and consulting services to the client throughout the project’s lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all aspects of the following electrical engineering design:
Power (Normal and emergency).
Lighting (Interior and exterior).
Fire alarm system.
Auxiliary Systems (Intercom, clocks, data, telephone, and specialty sound).
Security Systems (Access control, video surveillance, and Intrusion detection).
Perform lighting, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.
Perform electrical cost estimates for projects.
Coordinate and communicate all aspects of electrical design within the multi-disciplinary teams.
Prepare accurate and complete electrical project programming, schematic designs, design development designs, and construction documents.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Maintains a professional appearance to ensure we are presenting ourselves well to our clients and customers.
Perform field work during design to document existing electrical system conditions.
Review of manufacturer’s shop drawings.
Review and respond to RFI, COP, and pay applications,
Routine communications with our Architectural clients and other project consultants required during project design and construction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
5-8 years of experience
Work with, respond to, and take direction from project managers, principal in charge, and senior management.
Work independently with limited direction. Basic computer skills include the use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Certified in Electrical Design
Familiarity with electrical specifications.
Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC).
Familiarity with AutoCAD and REVIT software systems for viewing and minor editing of drawings.
Maintaining professionalism when dealing with colleagues and clients.
COMPENSATION:

Salary Range is $75,000 - $100,000 a year, commensurate with experience.
